Teen shot in suspected gang fight in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS (CNS) - A 16-year-old boy was recovering Monday from a gunshot wound sustained in a suspected gang fight in San Marcos, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported.

A fight broke out between two groups of rival gangster about 6:35 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Autumn Drive, near Mission Road, according to sheriff's Sgt. Gary Floyd. According to witness reports, about 10 people were involved in the fight, during which shots were fired, he said.

The 16-year-old, who was shot once in the buttocks, was taken to a hospital, but his wound was not considered life- threatening, Floyd said.

No arrests were made.
