POWAY (CNS) - San Diego County sheriff's deputies arrested three people on suspicion of drunken driving and impounded five vehicles at a checkpoint in Poway as part of an end-of-summer campaign wrapping up Monday.
Deputies also arrested someone who showed false identification and four people for driving on suspended licenses, but no names were made available, according to sheriff's Sgt. J.T. Rothlein.
More than 900 vehicles passed through the checkpoint in the 13000 block of Poway Road, starting about 7 p.m. Sunday, Rothlein said.
Thirteen drivers were cited for license violations, and three were booked on suspicion of drunken driving, he said.
The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, which started Aug. 19, wraps up this evening.
