Robbery suspect uses rock to break into Mission Valley restaurant

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A masked gunman smashed the glass front door of a Mission Valley bagel shop with a rock Thursday, went in and robbed the establishment, police said.

The armed robbery at Einstein Bagels at 5638 Mission Center Road was reported at 5:10 a.m., a short time before the eatery was to open, said San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

Once inside, the thief ordered three employees to get down on the floor, then helped himself to cash. He then ran out a rear door. No one was hurt.

The business was also robbed three weeks ago. The suspect from today's robbery matches the description of the robber who hit Einstein's last month, Cali said.
