Power outage doesn't dampen the party in PB and Gaslamp

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In Pacific Beach and downtown, some bars and restaurants didn't let the dark ruin their business. It just added to the ambiance.

Some restaurants and bars stayed open with the help of generators and candles. We found full tables and happy customers, who kept on enjoying themselves, even after the lights came back on.

For some restaurants, braving the blackout was a business decision that paid off.

The mood was equally festive in the Gaslamp Quarter downtown Thursday night. There were still lines outside many bars and restaurants, even though the lights were out.

Some patrons came up with some creative ways to the keep the party going in the dark like wearing headlamps to keep their hands free for beers.

Many people we talked to say they weren't so concern about the outage, that they'd miss a night on the town.
