Fire hydrant knocked over in Carmel Valley creating 50-foot geyser

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – Water service was shut off Tuesday morning in the 11000 block of El Camino Real.

A fire hydrant was knocked over in Carmel Valley, causing a 50-foot geyser to spray water into the air.

There is no word yet on what caused the hydrant to erupt or when water service will be restored.
