SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two people were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a truck, which sped away, San Diego police said Saturday.

A late-model, red Chevrolet pickup truck with four or five male occupants inside was on Midway Drive, near Wing Street, just before midnight, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. As the truck's driver turned into a parking lot, he struck a passing motorcycle with two riders.

The motorcycle went down, its driver sustained an open-leg fracture and the passenger sustained several abrasions, Stafford said. They were both taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.

The truck sped from the scene, Stafford said. It was described as a red, extra cab or crew cab, full-size Chevrolet truck, which may have damage to the left front fender.
