SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego State guard Jamaal Franklin has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the 20-year-old was stopped early Sunday near the SDSU campus, but no other details were made available, including what Franklin's blood-alcohol level was.
SDSU athletic department spokesman Mike May said men's basketball coach Steve Fisher was aware of the incident and was gathering more information.
Franklin averaged 2.9 points and 8.1 minutes last season when the Aztecs went 34-3 and reached the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament. He was expected to get significantly more playing time this season as the team lost four of its five starters.
