Miracle Marine vows to use second chance to pay it forward

SAN DIEGO (CBS8) - An annual event to raise money in support of helping children with down syndrome got some additional support from a Miracle Marine.

Marine Gunnery Sergeant Dave Smith says since beating the odds, nearly dying after being hit on his motorcycle by a suspected drunken driver, he wants to pay it forward as much as possible. His first act of kindness; the 3rd annual 'A Ride of Inspiration' to support the DS Action group and the Down Syndrome Center and Rady Children's Hospital.
