SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Charges will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Qualcomm Stadium with halftime performances by Mariachi Real de San Diego and traditional ballet folklorico dancers from Chula Vista.
Ruben Barrales, president and chief executive officer of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be presented with the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.
The award includes a $2,000 donation from Bud Light, which the recipient selecting an organization that serves the area's Latino community to receive. Barrales selected the Neighborhood House Association, described as San Diego's largest multi-purpose human services agency, which helps provides employment, health care, child, family and senior service.
Fifteen of the National Football League's 32 teams will hold Hispanic Heritage Month today or Monday to coincide with the league's national celebration on "Sunday Night Football" and "Monday Night Football."
