Sergeant pleads guilty to misdemeanor stalking charges

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A 23-year-veteran of the San Diego Police Department pleads guilty to misdemeanor charges of stalking and harassing a female colleague.

48-year-old Sergeant Kenneth Davis admitted sending text messages and repeatedly calling the woman after she ended their extra-marital affair.

The victim, a 13-year-veteran of the force, testified Davis was obsessed with her and at one point, threatened to kill her.

Davis' attorney says he never posed a credible threat.

"Should he have done it? Looking back, no. But it was certainly not felony conduct and he accepted responsibility for what he did," said defense attorney, James Bishop.

Davis was sentenced to three years probation, and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
