SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A gunman robbed a Thrifty Gas station in North Park and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash, a San Diego police officer said Saturday.
The robbery occurred about 10 p.m. Friday at 3255 University Ave., SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.
The gunman showed a handgun to two clerks in the station and demanded money, he said. The robber grabbed the cash and fled on foot, heading south on Boundary Street, Cali said.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned black man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches and 185 pounds, unshaven and wearing a black, long sleeve collared shirt with white horizontal stripes.
