18-month-old Isaiah needs a forever family to help him thrive

Posted: Updated:

He's an 18-month old boy who loves to giggle and smile. Isaiah's social workers say he's a calm baby not a fussy little guy and though he has some delays in development, he is working hard to catch up. Meet the little boy, whose big, brown, beautiful eyes will captivate you.

At 18-months-old, Isaiah is just developing the skills and confidence to walk, with a little bit of help - his precious hands, holding on tightly, as he explores.

It's literally been one step at a time for this little guy, who has developmental, cognitive and verbal delays, but Isaiah has made huge strides since being placed in a foster family about a year ago.

"He's been able to roll over, scoot on his back, and be able to get his bottle. And he's just progressed a lot in the past couple months," said Protective Services Worker Gisella Aguilar.

Isaiah has regular occupational therapy and sees a neurologist who monitors his progress. He also sees a nutritionist and uses a feeding tube, but Isaiah has learned to drink from a bottle and is now eating small amounts of baby food. What Isaiah needs now to continue to thrive, is a forever family.

"He needs a family that is willing to educate themselves on his developmental needs and that can provide a good future for him and give him the stability, the love, the commitment he needs as he grows older," explained Aguilar. "And things may become a little more difficult for him, a family that's just going to give him everything that he needs."

Isaiah needs a family that will love him and nurture him and utilize the county's support services so that he can continue to meet developmental milestones and give him the shot in life he so deserves.

"He's a very loving little boy, and so cute, and his little giggle and smiles just melt your heart when you see him," said Aguilar. "His big brown eyes just capture you, you come close to him."

With a family's love the sky's the limit for Isaiah.

"We don't know what his future holds for him, but everything can be changed with a loving, stable and secure family and that's what baby Isaiah needs," noted Aguilar.
