ESCONDIDO (CNS) - An Escondido man arrested in a fatal collision was facing a possible drunken driving charge and other felonies Sunday.
Joshua Goldbaum, 27, allegedly ran from a collision at state Route 78 and Bear Valley Parkway about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, and a 21-year-old woman riding in the other car died, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Goldbaum, who was arrested later the same morning, was booked at the Vista jail on suspicion of drunken driving, hit and run and gross vehicular manslaughter, with bail set at $100,000.
Authorities were withholding the name of woman who was killed.
According to the CHP, Goldbaum was driving a white Hyundai Sonata that collided with a a Ford Aerostar van on its passenger side, and the woman killed was riding in the rear on that side.

ESCONDIDO (CNS) - A 27 year-old Escondido man is under arrest Saturday in connection to a fatal car crash that took place on Bear Valley Parkway Saturday morning, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson told a local news source.
A blue Ford Aerostar and a white Hyundai Sonata collided in the intersection of state Route 78 and Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido shortly before 2:30 a.m. according to the CHP. The driver of the Sonata, Joshua Goldbaum, fled the scene but was later arrested.
A female passenger of the Sonata died and another passenger sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Aerostar suffered minor injuries and the passenger sustained major injuries but is expected to survive, the CHP spokesman said.
Bettencourt told the news source that police were pursuing several charges against Goldbaum, including felony hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter and felony driving under the influence.
