Body found in Mission Bay near Information Center

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An autopsy was pending Sunday on the man found floating in Mission Bay.

At about noon Saturday, lifeguards were notified that the body of a man was floating in Ski Bay, on the east side near Clairemont Drive. Lifeguard retrieved the corpse, which was that of a man in his 20s, the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office said.

No identification or preliminary cause of death was released Sunday.

PACIFIC BEACH (CNS/CBS 8) - A dead person was discovered floating in Mission Bay Saturday, San Diego Lifeguards said.

Lifeguards received a 911 call about the body a little after 12 p.m., San Diego Lifeguard Lt. John Everhart said.

Lifeguards responded to the call and brought the body ashore, where they waited for the medical examiner to arrive, Everhart said.

The body was reportedly spotted face-down in Ski Bay, near the information center on East Mission Bay Drive.
