5 people hurt after car crash in National City

NATIONAL CITY (CBS 8) - At least five people, including two children, are recovering Sunday night after a car crash in National City. 

It happened just before 9 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of National City Boulevard and 24th Street.

Police say a car ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle. The force of the crash caused one of the cars to flip over.

No word if drugs or alcohol may have played a role.
