SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego police continue to investigate why a fake home invasion was reported Sunday night in La Jolla. The person who filed the report is unknown at this time.
Investigators first told News 8 someone reported that three armed men in Halloween masks entered the home in the 1300 block of Park Row and tied up someone inside.
After further investigation, police determined the entire story was false.
There is no word yet on what, if any, charges could be filed against the person who made the fake report.
At this time, San Diego police aren't releasing any further details.
