SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 24-year-old man was behind bars Monday after he used a sharpened hair pick to rob a North Park sandwich shop, police said.
The robbery at the Subway sandwich shop at 2885 El Cajon Blvd. was reported shortly before 7:15 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The man entered the shop and started taking money from a tip jar, then pulled out the sharpened hair pick when confronted by an employee, Delimitros said.
He then demanded money from the shop's cash register before fleeing on foot, Delimitros said, adding that the man was taken into custody a few blocks away. His name was not immediately released.
The money was recovered, according to the officer.
