More layoffs possible in San Diego Unified School District

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Unified School District says it will have to lay off more employees if it's forced to make mid-year budget cuts.

That's according to a report by Superintendent Bill Kowba that will be presented at Tuesday's board meeting.

Kowba says those who keep their jobs will have to make concessions, and ten or more schools may have to close.

The state budget requires a major reduction in K-12 funding if revenues fall below projections.
