Oceanside police search for groping suspect

Posted: Updated:

OCEANSIDE (CNS / CBS 8) - Oceanside police searched Wednesday for a man suspected of groping three women on three separate occasions this week. And police say there may be more victims.

The latest reported groping occurred just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in a residential area near Oceanside Police Department headquarters on Mission Avenue, according to Oceanside police.

Two women were walking in 200 block of Fredericks Street when a man came up and groped one of the women's buttocks, police said.

Two similar incidents, also near the police station, were reported over the past three days. Police said the man fled in a silver Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Police say the groper targets women in their early 20's and often strikes at night near bus stops.
