The next robbery occurred at the Motel 6 at 7621 Alvarado Road shortly before 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, La Mesa police said in a statement. The third occurred at the Arco gas station at 3775 Massachusetts Ave. about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday.

During the robbery on Alvarado Road, two gunmen entered the lobby and took an entire cash register drawer from a clerk before fleeing on foot, police said. No one was hurt.

Police described one suspect as black, 20-25 years old, 6 feet 2 and 215 pounds, last seen wearing a dark nylon mask, a dark gray sweatshirt and gray pants. He was armed with a black revolver, police said.

In the robbery on Massachusetts Ave, two men approached a clerk standing outside the Arco gas station's convenience store. According to police, one of the men simulated having a handgun by reaching into his waistband and then demanded the clerk's wallet.

The clerk told the man he didn't have a wallet and the man responded by demanding the contents of a cash register, police said.

Both robbers then entered the business and took cash and cigarettes before fleeing northbound on foot, police said. The clerk was not hurt.

The suspect who demanded the clerk's wallet was described as black, in his mid-20s, 6 feet 3 and 185 pounds, with a thin build. He wore a nylon mask, dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, police said.

His accomplice was black, in his mid-20s, 6 feet and 170 pounds, with a thin build, police said. He also wore a nylon mask, dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
