SAN YSIDRO (CNS) - Two armed men robbed and carjacked a group of people Saturday at an outlet mall in San Ysidro, police said.

The carjacking was reported at 5:11 p.m. in a Las Americas Outlet lot at 4400 Cam de la Plaza, Officer David Stafford of the San Diego Police Department said.

Two men walked up to the group and flashed a handgun, ordering the two males, one female and a 12-year-old boy to get out of the van, Stafford said.

"The suspects took personal property and cash from the victims and drove away in their van," Stafford said.

Police spotted the suspects on Interstate-5 at Tocayo Avenue and later found the van in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 2200 Palm Ave., Stafford said. The driver had fled on foot and remains at large, but the passenger was taken into custody.

Police found a handgun inside the van, Stafford said.

No one was injured.
