SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An attempt to steal Oxycontin from a Vons store in the Midway district Tuesday was rebuffed by a pharmacist.
The would-be robber carried an object that resembled a gun under a towel and a hard hat went into the store at 2495 Truxtun Road and demanded the pain killers, San Diego Police Department Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The pharmacist refused and the suspect fled the scene on foot, Delimitros said.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and a medium build, according to Delimitros.
The failed robbery attempt was reported at 5:19 p.m.
The case was being investigated by robbery detectives.
