BORREGO SPRINGS (CNS) - The 46th annual Borrego Days Desert Festival will start Saturday with skydivers floating down over the parade route.
The parade is set to step off from Christmas Circle at 10 a.m., featuring marching bands, floats, decorated golf carts, equestrian groups and stunts by Grand Marshal Robbie Madison, who is a motorcycle stunt rider, event officials said.
Awards will be presented to the most festive float that embodies this year's theme: "The Wonders of Borrego."
The festival, continuing through Sunday, celebrates local artists and crafts people, including jewelers, glass blowers and leather workers.
Billy Watson and the Silverstring Submarine Band will perform.
The festival is set to run until 7 p.m. Saturday evening and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
