Access roads near EB I-805 expected to reopen Sunday after repairs

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Interstate 805 access roads from eastbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard should reopen Sunday after being closed for repairs, Caltrans said.

Caltrans crews closed the ramps Saturday night and, by about 10 a.m., crews were expected to finish a pavement-grinding project aimed at extending the life of onramp and offramp, according to Hayden Manning of Caltrans.

Both ramps may not reopen until as late as 4 p.m., Manning said.

Separately, three freeway ramps at Interstate 15 and state Route 56 will remain closed until about 5 a.m. Monday to prepare for the addition of another northbound lane.

Northbound motorists who need to exit I-15 to eastbound Ted Williams Parkway will be detoured to Carmel Mountain Road, where they will head east, then turn south on Rancho Carmel Drive.

Motorists trying to make their way I-15 to westbound SR 56 will be detoured at Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard and directed west to the next SR 56 access road.

Drivers heading north on I-15 from SR-56 will be detoured onto Ted Williams Parkway and turn north on Rancho Carmel Drive, then west on Carmel Mountain Road to reach the northbound I-15 on-ramp.

Westbound traffic on Ted Williams parkway will be detoured north to Rancho Carmel Drive, then west on Carmel Mountain Road to access the northbound I-15 on-ramp.

The work is scheduled for the weekend to disrupt traffic as little as possible, according to Caltrans.
