EL CAJON (CNS) - A 25-year-old man was shot in the foot outside an El Cajon steakhouse and sports bar early Monday and the suspected shooter -- a 29-year-old fellow bar patron -- was arrested, police said.
The shooting in the parking lot of Junction Steakhouse and Sports Bar at 777 Jamacha Road occurred shortly after midnight, El Cajon police Lt. Jeff Davis said in a statement.
Paramedics took one person to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, a Heartland fire dispatcher said. According to police, the victim was a 25-year-old man who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to one of his feet.
When officers arrived, they found several bar patrons had detained and allegedly disarmed Cein Kelley, 29, of El Cajon.
Witnesses told police that Kelley was involved in an earlier argument while inside the bar, then left and returned a short time later to fire multiple rounds from a revolver at some bar patrons in the parking lot. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was an intended target.
Kelley was arrested at the scene and booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Davis said.
