(OCEAN BEACH) For the fourth time in ten days, armed robbers targeted another Auto Zone store.
On Monday night, two suspects held up the Auto Zone on Cable Street in Ocean Beach. According to police, the two armed men forced the employees into the back of the store, then made off with an undetermined amount of money. The suspects were last seen heading north on Cable Street, driving a silver-colored four-door sedan.
Last Tuesday, another Auto Zone in Logan Heights. On October 22, one of the chain's stores in Spring Valley was hit, while another Auto Zone in El Cajon was robbed the previous day.
In those three previous cases, the Sheriff's department says two armed African-American men stormed into the store, forced employees to open the safe in the back, emptied the cash register and in one instance stole a customer's wallet. So far, no one has been injured in any of the incidents.
Investigators are working to determine if these cases are related.
