SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities released the names Tuesday of two Clairemont Mesa women killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 805.

Thoy Insixiengmay, 56, and Tem Thirakul, 59, were passengers in a sedan that spun out of control while entering the southbound side of the freeway from Clairemont Mesa Boulevard about 10 p.m. Monday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.

As the car veered across the roadway, a Federal Express tractor-trailer struck it, the California Highway Patrol reported. Insixiengmay and Thirakul, who were employed as restaurant workers, died at the scene.

Medics took a third victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries of undisclosed severity. It was unclear which vehicle that person was in when the crash occurred.
