LA MESA (CBS 8) - Immaculate classic cars buffed back to beauty are the shining stars at The San Diego Collection.
"We get them from auction. We get them from private parties. Just from being in business for a number of years, we get a lot of calls from people who want to sell their vehicles," Dave Young said.
The La Mesa display is equal parts showroom and museum, and every vehicle in it for sale.
"Every vehicle, you could get in right now, turn the key and go," Dave said.
From touring to turbo, you'll find them at The San Diego Collection. Over the years, body styles have changed, and so have prices. For example, take your 1954 Plymouth Belvedere.
"Originally sold for $3,200 and in cherried-out condition, perfect shape. Today it's $45,000," Dave said.
And if these classic cars are a little too rich for your blood, just drop down to a two-wheeler. You'll find some 1950's-era Schwinns for $2,000 and $4,000, respectively.
The San Diego Collection is open to the public free of charge Monday through Saturday, but the venue is available anytime for private functions.
"Birthday parties, end-of-the-year parties -- we have a wedding scheduled for next year," Dave said.
They've even hosted a wake.
"We bought his personal car in for the family and kind of showed it off. They were really excited about it," Dave said.
But no burying these classics. These rides are ready for a resurrection at The San Diego Collection.
