FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - LaDainian Tomlinson says he thinks San
Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers "seems distracted," and was
stunned Monday night when his former teammate fumbled a snap near the
end of regulation of an overtime loss to Kansas City.
Tomlinson,
in his second season with the New York Jets, wouldn't speculate Thursday
when asked if Rivers is struggling because he's not healthy. He said it
could be the result of the pressure of being a leader: "On the
sideline, he seems like he's just distracted. And I've always said this:
'It's hard to be The Guy.'"
Rivers, who has thrown an NFL-high 11
interceptions, dropped the snap against the Chiefs that cost the
Chargers in a 23-20 loss. Tomlinson couldn't "believe that just
happened," and had never seen Rivers do that.
