SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 56-year-old man stabbed his 50-year-old roommate early Friday morning at a sober living facility in the Logan Heights area, police said.

The violence at the Stepping Higher Sober Living Home at 3254 Ocean View Blvd. was reported shortly after 1 a.m., said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

Daniel Malone got into a fight with his roommate, Jack Messina, and stabbed him once in the back with a knife, Stafford said.

Messina was taken to a local trauma center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and Malone was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Stafford said. Why they fought was not immediately determined.

The attack was being investigated by the SDPD's Central Division, Stafford said.
