SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A wind advisory went into effect for the inland valley and mountain areas of San Diego County early Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, high pressure moving over the Great Basin will bring offshore winds gusting at up to 50 miles per hour in the mountains and inland valleys through early Thursday afternoon.

The wind advisory, which went into effect at 4 a.m., is scheduled to expire at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Winds will decrease somewhat Wednesday afternoon before strengthening again Wednesday night, the Weather Service advised.
