SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Chargers will honor the sacrifices of veterans and active-duty military members at Thurday night's game against the Oakland Raiders at Qualcomm Stadium as part of the NFL's new annual "Salute to Service" campaign.

There will be a special card ceremony during pregame ceremonies thanking and honoring the men and women serving in the armed forces. A local military family will receive a personal video message from their military member serving overseas.

At the conclusion of the national anthem, fans will participate in an organized flip card event revealing "Thank You" messages to military members and veterans.

Fans are advised to arrive early to ensure they are in their seats to participate.

Five local uniformed service members will be honored at halftime during a military appreciation ceremony. Throughout the game a handful of uniformed military members will be visible on the sidelines.

Before the game, 100 military members in uniform from all branches of service will meet a select Chargers player and Charger Girls.
