ALPINE (CNS) - A small car rear-ended a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 8 near Alpine early Wednesday, killing one person in the smaller vehicle, authorities said.
The fatality on eastbound I-8, near East Victoria Drive, was reported at 5:44 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The person fatally injured in the smaller vehicle died at the scene. The person's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No other details were immediately released.
