SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Sheriff's Department is back online after a system-wide outage.
Around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday a power outage at the sheriff's Kearny Mesa headquarters caused a ripple effect through the system.
Emergency dispatchers were not able to take 911 calls, dispatch deputies and the radio system completely stopped working.
But as of Thursday morning, the department moved its staff over to the communication center at the California Highway Patrol and service has been restored.
