Poway man killed in I-5 crash on Camp Pendleton ID'd

Authorities Saturday identified a 49-year-old Poway man who was killed in a crash on Interstate 5 on Camp Pendleton.

CAMP PENDLETON (CNS) - Authorities Saturday identified a 49-year-old Poway man who was killed in a crash on Interstate 5 on Camp Pendleton.

James Kelly Worley was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Interstate 5, approaching Basilone Road, about 6:05 a.m. Friday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Worley was struck by a 2004 Nissan 350Z driven by 23-year-old Camp Pendleton man who was also traveling north at about 70 mph, according to the Medical Examiner's Office and the California Highway Patrol.

The car drifted into the path of the motorcycle and the two collided, ejecting Worley in the crash, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

Emergency responders initiated aggressive resuscitative efforts but pronounced Worley dead at the scene, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
