EL CAJON (CNS) - Police detained a man after a 6-and-half-hour standoff in El Cajon Friday.

A woman called police about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, and said an unwelcome relative had come into the house and refused to leave, an El Cajon police dispatcher said.

The woman had left the home, located on the 100 block of West Chase Avenue, before calling from another location.

Officers saw shattered glass in front of the house and believed the man could be injured. The unwelcome house guest refused to cooperate with police and the SWAT team was called about 3:10 a.m., the dispatcher said.

The SWAT team removed the man from the house about 5:10 a.m.

The man's current condition was not known.

What charges the man might face were not immediately released.

No further details were immediately available.
