Man, 89, fatally injured after running red light on Thanksgiving

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Saturday identified a 89-year-old San Diego who suffered fatal injuries in a crash near Lindbergh Field on Thanksgiving.

Stanley Ely Mills was driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass headed east when he reportedly ran a red light at West Washington Street at San Diego Avenue on West Washington Street at about 5:10 p.m. Thursday, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office reported.

Mills' car was broadsided by a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Following the collision, he was taken to UCSD Medical Center. He was pronounced dead just after noon Friday, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
