ESCONDIDO (CNS) - Police Wednesday released a sketch of a man suspected of attempting to sexually assault a teenage girl who was walking to school in Escondido.
The 15-year-old victim was walking to school about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when the unidentified assailant, who appeared to be in his 30s, jumped her near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and North Rose Street in Escondido, according to police.
After breaking free of the man's grip, the girl ran off and made an emergency call, Lt. Craig Carter said. She described the attacker as a roughly 6-foot-2-inch, muscular, bald-headed white man with crooked teeth and thick blond hair on his arms. The suspect was dressed in all black.
The victim told investigators the assailant fled in a white 1990s station wagon with a black stripe on its side, Carter said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Escondido Police at (760) 839-4722.
