SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A woman in her 60s suffered minor injuries late Wednesday afternoon when a man attacked her at UC San Diego.

The assailant, who appeared to be in his late 40s or 50s, emerged from shrubbery near the UC San Diego School of Medicine and grabbed the victim about 4 p.m., according to university officials. The woman was able to break free of the man's grip and escape.

She described the attacker as a brown-eyed white man with medium-length brown hair, and a mustache and beard of similar color. He was wearing jeans and a white or tan polo shirt, and may have scratches on his face, authorities said.

Anyone with information is asked to call campus police at (619) 534-4357.
