SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Monday is the last day to make the first installment of this fiscal year's property tax payments, San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister said Friday.
The deadline is usually Dec. 10, but since it falls on a Saturday this year, property owners have two extra days.
"All of our offices will be open on Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.," McAllister said. "If you plan on paying online or by phone, please pay well before midnight to make sure your payment is on time."
Payments can be made at the downtown County Administration Center on Pacific Highway, or at branch offices in Chula Vista, El Cajon, Kearny Mesa and San Marcos. Property owners can also pay their bills online at sdtreastax.com, or by calling (855) 829-3773.
McAllister said property owners who are late face a penalty of 10 percent of their bill, plus a $10 fee.
