SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police Monday investigated a pair of armed robberies involving gas stations -- one in Bay Park and the other in El Cerrito.
In the first robbery, a man armed with a handgun robbed the Arco gas station at 2505 Morena Blvd. in Bay Park about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
He pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded cash, then fled on foot after the clerk complied, Delimitros said. The exact loss was not disclosed.
About three hours later, a man armed with a handgun robbed the Shell gas station at 5401 University Ave. in similar fashion, Delimitros said.
The suspect in the first robbery was described as Hispanic, in his 30s and about 5 feet tall, with a medium build. He wore a gray and blue striped sweatshirt with a hood, Delimitros said.
In the second robbery, the suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 30s and about 5 feet 6, with a medium build. He wore a white hooded sweatshirt, Delimitros said.
