SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 46-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after he cut his 40-year-old girlfriend in the chin with a knife during a fight in the East Village, prompting her to retaliate by stabbing him in one of his eyes with a pen, police said.
The couple got in a fight near 16th and Broadway about 12:15 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries, he said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Delimitros said.
The fight apparently stemmed from the woman's refusal to have sex with the man, according to news reports not immediately confirmed by police.
