Heartbroken musician plays street concerts to find lost dog

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A San Diego musician heartbroken by the loss of his 2-year-old terrier will play street-corner concerts this weekend in hopes of finding the pet.

Christopher Dale's 20-pound, red-and-tan dog with a feathered tail "Redford" went missing on Dec. 15 in the Fox Run development, but he wasn't able to do much about it at the time because his grandfather died around the same time.

Redford had on a collar and yellow ID tag.

The nine-time San Diego Music Awards nominee, a 43-year-old guitar-playing rocker who counts Tom Petty and John Mayer among his influences, will get together with friends to stage the shows and wave signs at drivers, asking for help finding Redford.

Dale already created a Facebook page for Redford and has been putting up fliers around Clairemont.

Saturday's concert will be at the corner of Balboa and Genesee avenues, Sunday's at Linda Vista Road and Genesee Avenue. Both shows begin at noon.

Dale, who was his ailing grandfather's primary caregiver, has four solo albums. He was formerly known as Scorch and once fronted the San Diego band Grays Well. His music is heard on advertisements for Ikea, Nissan, Sparklett's and the former Henry's Marketplace -- now known as Sprouts.
