Competency hearing for accused freeway shooter

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A mental competency hearing is scheduled Friday morning, for a man accused in a shooting rampage on San Diego freeways.

Police say 25-year-old Enrique Ayon opened fire along the 5 and 805 freeways, hitting three cars, and injuring one driver.

Authorities have not yet established a motive for the random attacks.

If convicted, Ayon faces 63-years to life behind bars.
