SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The first debate in the San Diego mayor's race with all four major candidates scheduled to attend is set for Friday.
The 5 p.m. debate at the U.S. Grant Hotel is sponsored by The Lincoln Club of San Diego County, the San Diego County Taxpayers Association and The City Club of San Diego. It's expected to last about one hour.
There have been some debates and town hall forums between various candidates, but this will be the first time that Councilman Carl DeMaio, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, Rep. Bob Filner, D-San Diego, and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego, share a stage.
Dumanis has avoided such events until now. The candidates are seeking to replace Jerry Sanders, who is being termed-out after eight years.
