SAN MARCOS (CNS) - A 13-year-old suspect believed responsible for a four-month tagging spree in San Marcos was booked into juvenile hall, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

Detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station identified the teen as a suspect, and a subsequent search of the minor's residence turned up numerous graffiti-related items, according to sheriff's Detective Randy Avila.

The alleged tagger was arrested Sunday and booked into the Kearny Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility on suspicion of 39 counts of misdemeanor vandalism, Avila said.

A damage estimate was not released, and the suspect's name was withheld due to being underage.
