SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police searched Wednesday for a gunman who attempted to rob a Subway sandwich shop but fled empty handed.
The attempted armed robbery at 3308 University Ave. was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The gunman entered the business, racked a round in his pistol and then demanded cash, he said.
An employee failed to open the cash register and the gunman ran away, Delimitros said.
Police described the gunman as Hispanic, 25-30 years old and about 5 feet 6, with a medium build. He wore a blue hoodie, black hat and jacket, Delimitros said.
