SAN DIEGO (CNS) - About 60 mock accident victims will take part in a simulated mass casualty demonstration Sunday outside the Bayfront Hilton as part of the 12th Annual International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare.
The demonstration will feature San Diego emergency medical service providers who will respond as if it was a real disaster, triaging victims and setting up treatment areas, according to Andrew Spain, of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
The four-day meeting, with about 3,000 participants from around the world, is aimed at connecting classroom work with real-world situations, Spain said. Working in a simulated environment enables learners off all levels, he said.
