SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Padres Fan Fest took place Saturday at Petco Park where fans got a chance to meet their favorite players and run the bases.
Players signed autographs, shook hands, and posed for pictures with fans. Fans got to pitch in the bullpen and catch balls on the field.
It's an experience that some players say they wish they would have done when they were young baseball fans themselves.
When I was a kid growing up, I wish I could have done this. I never knew it existed. It's good for them. It's good for us to meet everybody, meet our fans," Padres short stop, Jason Bartlett said.
Single game tickets are now on sale. Spring training gets underway February 19th.
The Padres host the Dodgers in their season opener April 4th.
