18-year-old who fatally crashed car into tree, ID'd

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Sunday released the name of an 18-year-old man killed in a single-vehicle traffic crash in the South Bay Terraces neighborhood of southeast San Diego.

About 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Johnathon Richard Kordylas of Bonita drove a black 1990 Acura Integra sedan southbound on Woodman Street near Tooma Street at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, he lost control of the sedan and crashed into a tree, San Diego Police officer David Stafford said.

Kordylas, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died on the scene according to the coroner's report.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An 18-year-old motorist drove his sedan into a tree and was killed Saturday in the South Bay Terraces neighborhood of southeast San Diego.

The crash was reported at about 2:10 a.m., as the man drove a black 1990 Acura southbound on Woodman Street at high speed near Tooma Street. For unknown reasons, he lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, San Diego Police officer David Stafford said.

The driver was dead at the scene, Stafford said. The SDPD traffic division was investigating, and the motorist's name was to be withheld until family members were notified.
